Basic Histocompatibility Course


The Basic Course is offered biennially and alternates with the Specialists Course. The next Basic Course will be held April 8 – 11, 2011 at the Dallas Marriott City Center in Dallas, Texas. Registration Materials here! here.

Purpose:
To provide the technician/technologist with a well-rounded background in basic transplant immunology and related laboratory skills.

Objective:
To meet the needs of the beginning HLA technician/technologist by providing pertinent information about HLA testing, methodologies, and information necessary to meet the ASHI Statement of Competency.

Syllabus:
Each student will receive a comprehensive course syllabus containing:

Applicant Requirements:
Minimum of three months experience in an HLA Laboatory.
B.S. degree in an appropriate biological science or MT(ASCP) or other appropriate registry.

General Information

Registration fee includes continental breakfast, breaks and lunch daily as well as welcome reception.
Hotel, transportation and other arrangements/costs are the student's responsibility.
The official language for the course is English.
The course is ABHI certified.
